The play "Childhood 45-53: tomorrow will be happiness" was created based on the book of the same name by L. Ulitskaya. Lyudmila Ulitskaya is the author of dozens of books that have sold over 2 million copies in a total circulation, her works have been translated into more than 40 languages. "Childhood 45-53: tomorrow will be happiness" about the generation of those whose childhood was at the end of the war and the post-war years. Folded together, excerpts from memories of our contemporaries tell about all the main aspects of the "happy childhood" of the post-war years: about what they ate and drank, what they dressed, how they played, how people lived in the village and in the city.
Today, we are struck by their ability to see happiness and love in their childhood, despite the horrors of war and the difficulties of the post-war period. In our fairly comfortable time, we all need to learn to appreciate every second of the world for which such a high price was paid. The play is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, and was created in the framework of the project "Petersburg Documentary Stage".
