Governor's Orchestra of St. Petersburg (before 2001 - Symphony Orchestra of the St. Petersburg TV and Radio named VP Soloviev-Gray) was founded in 1945 on the base of a jazz orchestra conducted by N. Mincha. The team was created to promote the pop music of Soviet composers. C came to the leadership of A. Vladimirtsov orchestra was increased, many composers began to write symphonic works especially for him.

With a team of cooperating Petrov, Basner, Gavrilin. In 1978, the orchestra was headed by Gorkovenko. Conductor included in the repertoire of symphonic, opera and ballet classics. Under his direction was recorded over 50 CDs with music of Tchaikovsky ballets, symphonies by Haydn, Mozart, Schumann, Shostakovich, as well as works of contemporary Petersburg composers. The orchestra tours abroad (United Kingdom, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Japan), performs regularly in the halls of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic and the Academic Capella.
