The play «House Of Bernarda Alba»

The play "The House of Bernard Alba" was written by Federico García Lorca based on real history: the house of the woman who served as the prototype of Bernard was standing next to the house of García Lorca's parents in the village of Askerosa. As a child, Lorca became an unwitting witness to the tragedy that took place in the venerable family, which he pushed away in his work on the play.

The plot of the play can be defined as follows: after the death of her husband, Bernard Alba declares mourning and, together with his five daughters, hides in the walls of the patrimonial house. Mother severely restricts the freedom of girls who can not dispose of themselves and feel themselves buried alive. The oldest of the sisters wins Pepe, "the most prominent guy in the neighborhood" - but he feels real love for the youngest, Adela, who falls in love with him just as passionately.
