Life - a complex and at the same time the easiest thing. Where there is love, there are always difficulties. What could be simpler - to love and be loved. But, alas, it does not happen in a world where relationships are refracted through a variety of social stereotypes and personal expectations. Here and in the libretto to "Don Quixote" is about a young charmer, a failed dignified and rich stout gentleman of some kind of love is nothing of itself is not a poor young man.
If someone thinks that in the ballet before the audience will necessarily skinny cornstalk in metal armor and always with a wedge-shaped beard, he is mistaken. "Don Quixote", which presents to the spectator Theatre St. Michael, is not a copy or a repetition of the story of the same name works of Cervantes. This is a unique formulation of the great choreographer Marius Petipa.
The first demonstration of the updated version of the dance "Don Quixote" was realized in the main theater of the Russian capital in 1869. Petipa used lyrical musical compositions by Ludwig Minkus for his libretto. However, after some two years of Marius Petipa's performance is slightly altered by creating a special version for the St. Petersburg scene. It is this ballet and entered the golden fund of classical theater.
