The musical «Tale of Rikki-Tikki-Tavi»

The young composer Dmitry Zhuchenko wrote this musical fairy tale specially for the theater "Through the Looking Glass", where it has long become a tradition to open the audience new works by contemporary composers. Who does not know the brave mongoose Ricky? .. Familiar to all and other heroes of the story, composed by Rudyard Kipling: the inexhaustible birdie-tailor Darzi, Teddy's good-natured boy, the timid musky rat of Chuchoundra and, of course, the main villains are a conjugal couple of black glasses co-Nag and Nagayna.

Of course, Ricky, the winner of snakes, a small fearless beast, desperately rushing into battle with death, is worthy of glory! Glory to "his talented claws, his fangs to his white and fiery-red eyes!" But in "Through the Looking-Glass" he is sung to him with a hymn not only because he won in battle, but also because the little mongoose had a noble heart and knew that such magnanimity, selfless devotion and friendship.

In the play, both honored artists and young people are engaged - all of them play birds, rats and snakes with excitement and unusual enthusiasm. The musical is accompanied by an instrumental ensemble, and for the visual side of the action one of the most creatively bright Petersburg stsenographers Vladimir Fierer, who has collaborated with the theater "Through the Looking Glass" for a long time, answers.
